Collection: Peter Vink

Born in 1974 in Bilt (The Netherlands), Peter Vink graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. Renowned for his temporary and permanent installations in public or privately owned spaces, he regularly receives commissions from public institutions, such as the Dutch Government Building Department.
Peter Vink has the extraordinary ability of understanding space, manipulating it and transforming it into something new and previously unseen. His temporary atelier is the place he is working on, his interventions highlight (in both the literal and metaphorical meaning of the word) and bring to attention elements of that particular space that were previously unseen by the eye of the viewer and, often, taken for granted and blank out by its mind.
The artist´s work is site-specific and his visual manipulation of the location underlines the architectural elements of it, amplifies its appearance with a game of scale, sometimes reduced and subdued in size, sometimes amplified and overextended with respect to the dimensions of the setting. Architectural, minimal and innovative, Peter Vink and his lights understand the spirit of a site and bring it to a new life, reinvented and rediscovered.
