What I particularly like about this work of art are the materials: it consists of a basket-like network of willow wood branches embedded in a colored synthetic resin cast. Typical of Ji Eun Lee. The cross section highlights the branches beautifully and creates an exciting contrast between the two very different materials. On the one hand it is a natural material, on the other hand it is a synthetic plastic, which in turn encloses the natural material. This leaves room for exciting interpretation approaches.
