In their art, the Berlin-based artist couple Römer + Römer deal with snapshots of our social life. In their search for motifs, they travel to festivals and freeze these extraordinary moments with their camera. The subsequent work is the translation of the photo pixels into painting. The product is pulsating images, which, similar to pointilism, are finished in the viewer. A play of vibrating life, which, when viewed from a distance, results in a picture. As soon as one gets closer to the picture, one discovers the thousandfold existing colour dots, which create just this picture. Nina and Torsten Römer act and work together as an artist couple, they were master students of A. R. Penck in Düsseldorf.
